This is a passion project that keeps pulling me back. It is run by one person in their spare time. The motivation is to develop alternative systems before our current ones collapse. We need a better vision for our collective future.
Project
Change Ideas exists to share and develop solutions to big societal problems. The trajectory of modern civilization is unsustainable and multiple systems are heading for collapse. The disintegration of systems is underway and unavoidable without altering course.
Crisis points will happen with increasing frequency as the collapse of old ways accelerates. We need to be ready with well-developed alternatives. This is important because every crisis is an opportunity to try something different. The purpose of Change Ideas is to provide a blueprint of what those changes could look like. This could mean replacing representative electoral democracy with representative random selection, using principles to decide who should own what, or requiring referendums before declaring external wars.
Person
Who I am does not matter. What matters are the ideas. But I can still tell you a little about myself. Parents met in Iran, created in Kenya, and fourteen countries later born in Canada. Studied in Bhutan, Guyana, Canada, Germany, and Australia. Traveled or worked in about fifty countries. Married a Sri Lankan. Citizen of three counties. Totally not a spy.
Studied undergraduate business, philosophy, and sociology. Masters in international relations. PhD in political science. Certificate of teaching in higher education. Currently studying diploma in construction. Guarded camps from grizzly bears, organized electronic music festivals, lectured politics in university, worked in government, and wrangled large public opinion datasets.

Change Ideas donations do not even cover domain and hosting costs. This is a passion project that keeps pulling me back. It is run by one person in their spare time. I think it is important to develop alternative systems before our current ones collapse entirely. But this is a very niche topic and I do not ever expect to be able to make a living doing this work. Donations of time and money are both welcomed.
